Funeral services will be held 11:00 Thursday morning, June 18, 2009 at S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, rural Monticello with burial in the Prairie Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 Wednesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. Rev. Paul Finger will officiate at the services. Surviving is a daughter, Katherine (Larry) Lamont, Hopkinton, 2 grandsons, Brad Lamont, Hopkinton, William Lamont, Monticello, 1 brother, Marion Wise, Oelwein, 3 sister-in-laws, Marie Capron, Anamosa, Jean Kvach, Cedar Rapids, and Helen Seaton, Anamosa, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband Albert, 4 sisters, Barbara Burnside, Elsie Folken, Gertrude Oltmanns, Lorena Stutt and 3 brothers, LeRoy, James and William Wise. Betty L. Wise was born July 7, 1925 at Belden, Nebraska. She was the daughter of LeRoy and Gertrude Christian Lund, Wise. Betty received her education in the rural schools near Central City. She later worked at the Reliance Shirt Factory in Anamosa and the Anamosa Produce. Betty Wise and Albert Oltmanns were married June 14, 1944 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. The couple farmed in Cass Township north of Anamosa. They retired in 1982 and moved to Hopkinton to be near their daughter and her family. Betty was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church where she kept her membership. She also attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Hopkinton. Betty enjoyed going visiting family and friends and was always ready for a good card game. She always enjoyed going to Senior Meals in Hopkinton.
