Description	:	She was born in Warden, Montana on February 6, 1924 to parents Rudolf and LaVange Seidl. When she was still young, her mother and stepfather, Harry Hiber moved to Carbonado, Washington, where Harry found work in the coal mine. During this time siblings Margie and Gerald were born. She graduated with the last graduating class of Black Diamond High School in 1943. Betty met and married the love of her life, Joe Martin or Buckley on December 3, 1944. She graduated with the last graduating class of Black Diamond High School in 1943. Betty met and married the love of her life, Joe Martin or Buckley on December 3, 1944. A short time later, Joe shipped out with the US Navy to serve in the Pacific theatre. During the war Betty worked for the Boeing Airplane Company. After the war they settled in San Francisco where Joe attended the University of California. Their daughter Diane was born in 1945 in San Francisco. In 1946 they moved to Renton Highlands where Joe graduated from The College of Puget Sound and went to work for the Acme Steel Co. While living in Renton, son David was born in 1951. Eventually the family moved to Des Moines, Washington. They loved to go camping each year at Bumping Lake. In 1964, Joe was transferred to Portland, Oregon. The family lived in Gresham, Oregon. While in Oregon the family began attending Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church where Betty loved to sing in the choir. They returned to Buckley, Washington in 1968 when Joy transferred back to Seattle. Betty had many hobbies; oil painting, knitting, carding wool, gardening, canning, crocheting, and quilting. She was a gifted homemaker and loved to cook and sew for her family and many others. Betty also enjoyed playing organ, piano and ukulele. During her life she worked as a secretary at both Tyee High School and the White River School District. Above all Betty loved the Lord and was an active member of Buckley Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her father Rudolf Seidl, stepfather Harry Hiber, mother LaVange Jones, sister Margie Newmanand, and son-in-law Jon McKenny. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Joe Martin of Buckley, WA; daughter Diane McKenny of Kent, WA; son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Martin of Peshastin, WA; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Barbara Hiber of Olympia; step-sister and Step-brother Diane Cotton and Charli Seidl of Las Vegas, NV; many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Betty was dearly loved by all and will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be held at Community Presbyterian Church, Buckley, WA on Saturday, October 21st at 1 PM, followed by a graveside service at Buckley Cemetery. Above all Betty loved the Lord and was an active member of Buckley Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her father Rudolf Seidl, stepfather Harry Hiber, mother LaVange Jones, sister Margie Newmanand, and son-in-law Jon McKenny.
