After her marriage to Paul Bouchey, they settled in Rantoul, Illinois at the Chanute Air Force Base and then moved to Texas when he was assigned to the Amarillo Air Base. Read More	BOUCHEY,BETTY LOU 2017-06-01 (interment date) 35 32 ****** Betty Lou Bouchey, 80, of Yakima, died Monday, February 13, 2017 at Brookdale Arbor House. She was born October 2, 1936 in Toppenish, WA to Carl and Marie (Caldwell) Burkhart. She attended schools in Harrah and White Swan. After her marriage to Paul Bouchey, they settled in Rantoul, Illinois at the Chanute Air Force Base and then moved to Texas when he was assigned to the Amarillo Air Base. After returning to Washington, the family settled in the Wapato area to begin a farming operation. Betty was Baptized in 1963 as a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Wapato. Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Guild until moving to Yakima in 1996. Betty worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Brownstown, WA as a substitute for seven years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles in Toppenish. Betty was an avid bridge player, joining the American Contract Bridge League in 1992. She then traveled all of Canada and Santiago, Chile and the US playing in tournaments. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Sandra & Bob Hambly of Yakima, Steven & Kim Bouchey, Jody & Teresa Bouchey and JayDean & Jeff Brown, all of Harrah, six grandchildren, Jeremy, Philip, Steffany, Sydney, Carley Jay & Logan; one great-granddaughter Ellie; also, a brother, Dale & Tana Burkhart of Yakima. At Betty’s request, there will be no services.
