Description	:	Betty Darnielle Betty Lou Darnielle, 89, of Ottumwa died at 7:26 p.m. August 22, 2018 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born April 28, 1929 in Ottumwa to Raymond and Minnie Huffman Morrison. She married Frank Darnielle on July 9, 1949. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2014. Read More	Betty Darnielle Betty Lou Darnielle, 89, of Ottumwa died at 7:26 p.m. August 22, 2018 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born April 28, 1929 in Ottumwa to Raymond and Minnie Huffman Morrison. She married Frank Darnielle on July 9, 1949. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2014. Growing up in Ottumwa, Betty worked as a waitress, operated an in-home day care and worked as the librarian at the Christian School. She was a member of First Church of the Open Bible where she taught Sunday School for three generations. Recently she was recognized by her church for her love of children. She participated in Sweet Adeline's, volunteered at Heartland Pregnancy Center and at polling booths in Wapello County. Surviving is a daughter, Deb (Gene) Leutzinger of Cedar Rapids; a son, Stephen Darnielle of Ankeny; four grandchildren, Nate Leutzinger, Abby (Kane) Bechstein, Elizabeth Darnielle and Emily Darnielle. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mary Morrison, Barbara Osborn, Genevieve Hogan and Ethel Morrison; two brothers, Frank Morrison and Bill Morrison. Betty's sisters, per her son Stephen: 24143109 Genevieve Hogan; 151448971 Ethel June Morrison Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at First Church of the Open Bible with Pastors Mark and Bill Hornback officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Church of the Open Bible. Published on August 23, 2018
