She was born May 30, 1931 at Kiefer, Md., the daughter of the late John Curtis Platt and Beulah Hott Platt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sulfur Springs United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Darrell Belmont Males on September 20, 2001; second husband of 43 years, Herman Sindy on June 11, 2006; one brother, John Platt and one sister, Sue West. She was born May 30, 1931 at Kiefer, Md., the daughter of the late John Curtis Platt and Beulah Hott Platt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sulfur Springs United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Darrell Belmont Males on September 20, 2001; second husband of 43 years, Herman Sindy on June 11, 2006; one brother, John Platt and one sister, Sue West. Surviving are one daughter, Darla Allen, Stephens City, Va.; one step-daughter, Cathy Sipes, Winchester; two sons, Ted Males, Yuma, Ariz. and James Robert Young, Seneca Rocks; one step-son, Herman Sindy, Jr. of Alabama; one sister, Nelvia Chambers, Paw Paw; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5 at the Kimble Funeral Home, 188 Moser Avenue, Paw Paw. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kimble Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Travis officiating. Burial will be at Sulfur Springs Cemetery in Kiefer, Md.
