She was born March 27, 1922 at St. Edward, NE to Joseph and Birdie (Cleveland) Pope. Read More	Betty Lou Swanson Dau, age 89, of Blair, NE, formerly of Fremont, NE, died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. She was born March 27, 1922 at St. Edward, NE to Joseph and Birdie (Cleveland) Pope. She grew up in St. Edward and then moved to Omaha in 1939 and lived there for 5 years, and then moved to West Point, NE. She lived in Fremont from 1943 until 1975 and then moved to Hooper, NE. She returned to Omaha in July of 1999. She then moved back to Fremont in February 2000. She had been residing at the Crowell Memorial Home at Blair since 2005. Betty Lou married Clell Swanson November 14, 1938 in Albion, NE. He died September 28, 1973. She married Gerald "Jerry" Dau on November 8, 1975 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. Jerry died September 4, 2001. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont and a former member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, NE. Survivors include: son, Lynn Swanson of Lincoln, NE; daughters – Clella and husband Carl Rehkow of Blue Springs, MO and Susan and husband Bassam Abou-Nasr of Woodbury, MN; 17 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; 2 husbands; daughter – Chloe Schilling; brother – Lester Pope; and sisters – Hertha Munsinger, Bernice Spiegel, Ida Lowe and Fae Schmadeke. Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, Jan. 3rd at First Baptist Church in Fremont, NE. The Rev. Gundar Lamberts will officiate. Visitation Monday 3 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends on Monday from 5 PM to 7 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation on Tuesday at church 1hr prior to service. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, NE. Memorials may be directed to the Crowell Memorial Home Alzheimers Unit at Blair, NE. Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
