Description	:	Betty M. Rogers, age 86, of Mitchell, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Mitchell Care Center. Betty was born November 28, 1923 in Scottsbluff, to Earl F. and Laura (Scoggan) Crandall. She grew up and received her education in Gering, and graduated from Gering High School with the class of 1942. She married Blair Rogers on February 2, 1946 in Gering. She and Blair lived in Gering and she was employed as a bookkeeper for Dr. Stuart Wiley for six years. Rogers, age 86, of Mitchell, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Mitchell Care Center. Betty was born November 28, 1923 in Scottsbluff, to Earl F. and Laura (Scoggan) Crandall. She grew up and received her education in Gering, and graduated from Gering High School with the class of 1942. She married Blair Rogers on February 2, 1946 in Gering. She and Blair lived in Gering and she was employed as a bookkeeper for Dr. Stuart Wiley for six years. They then purchased the drug store in Mitchell which they owned and operated for twenty five years. In addition in being active in the business, she loved to garden, loved to crochet and loved to do craft projects. Betty was a loving mother who always made time to take her son and his friends hunting and fishing and being a big part of their lives growing up. She was a very giving woman who had many friends and touched many lives. We will always remember her as an honorary member of the “Kindergarten Club”, a group of friends that started in Kindergarten together and continued those friendships throughout the years. She was also a member of the Mitchell Evangelical Free Church. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at the Mitchell Care Center for their never ending care and compassion for Betty and her family throughout the past number of year. Her remains will be cremated following the service and she will be inurned next to her husband Blair at the Mitchell Cemetery at a later date.
