She married Robert E. Sparks, he preceded her in death in 1988. She married Robert L. She married Robert E. Sparks, he preceded her in death in 1988. She married Robert L. Grogan, he preceded her in death in 1995.Betty had lived in Farson, IA from 1952 to 1961, and has been a resident of Ottumwa since 1961. She was a sales representative for Iowa Southern Utilities for 25 years, retiring in 1988.She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church having served as trustee and on numerous committees. She was a volunteer for the Ottumwa Regional Health Center Auxiliary and for the Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties Auxiliary.Surviving is her daughter, Judy Butler of Shreveport, LA; two granddaughters, Julie (Jim) Dean of Shreveport, LA and Jill Butler of Saint Augustine, FL; two great-grandsons, Justin (Carrie) Dean of Charleston, SC and Jentry Butler Dean of Fort Worth, TX; and her special friend, Bill Jones of Ottumwa.She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jim Butler.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday January 10, 2015 at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, IA with Pastor Donna Vaughan and Rev. David Klanderman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa, IAVisitation begins at 10 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2014. The family will be present one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jim Dean, Justin Dean, Jentry Dean, Gary Gobble, Terry Handy and Craig Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Fairchild and Bill Jones
