Born June 25, 1924, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Fred E. and Grace E. Lloyd Beck. On June 30, 1946, she married Harold Truman White in Oakland Mills. He died Oct. 12, 1986. Read More	Betty White Betty Marie White, 85, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mount Pleasant. Born June 25, 1924, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Fred E. and Grace E. Lloyd Beck. On June 30, 1946, she married Harold Truman White in Oakland Mills. He died Oct. 12, 1986. Mrs. White worked as an engraver for Sheaffer Pen Co. in Mount Pleasant and as a bookkeeper and office manager at Breazeale Insurance and Breazeale Flying Services. She also worked for Overseas Construction Service in Mount Pleasant. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1941 at the age of 16. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church where she held many offices. She was a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, Mount Pleasant Golf and Country Club Women's Golf League and bowled on many bowling leagues. She collected antiques and was a member of the Huldah Saunders Questers. She was a Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and feeding and watching birds. Survivors include one son, Kent White of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Jane Snider and Grace "Pat" White, both of Burlington; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The Requiem Holy Eucharist for Mrs. White will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Wayne Kamm officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Memorials have been established for St. Michael's Episcopal Church and Mount Pleasant Golf and Country Club.
