Description	:	Betty Marie McKee Moore was born March 29, 1928 in Hallowell, Kansas to John Emmett McKee and Mattie Mae Westervelt. She grew up on the family farm North of Hallowell and graduated from Cherokee County Rural High School. She taught school at Crossroads Country School for a year. She worked for Braniff Airlines for 27 years, then serving as a travel agent for many years. She and her friend, Carol Rice traveled the world visiting many countries throughout their Braniff years. Read More	Betty Marie McKee Moore was born March 29, 1928 in Hallowell, Kansas to John Emmett McKee and Mattie Mae Westervelt. She grew up on the family farm North of Hallowell and graduated from Cherokee County Rural High School. She taught school at Crossroads Country School for a year. She worked for Braniff Airlines for 27 years, then serving as a travel agent for many years. She and her friend, Carol Rice traveled the world visiting many countries throughout their Braniff years. She passed away in Galveston, Texas on December 21, 2014. She married Robert Darian (R.D.) Moore in 1973 . He preceded her in death in June of 2008. They loved to travel and were fond of cruising, taking many cruises and serving as escort for other cruise lovers. Betty and R.D. were active Galveston community members. Betty is survived by sons Jimmy Moore (Pat) of Beach City, Texas and Billy Moore (Nancy) of Pearland, Texas, nieces Marta McKee Brown (Gary) and Betty McKee Crossland (Ivan) of Columbus, Kansas. Also surviving are nephews Bob McKee (Barb) and Greg McKee (Ellie) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sister in laws Fayrene McKee Skahan and Mona McKee, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Marvin McKee, Loren McKee and Ralph McKee, and a nephew, John McKee. Betty lived life to the fullest, never missing a chance to see the world with good friends and family. Everyone was always welcome at her and R.D.’s beach house in Bay Harbor. Many great memories were made there, and a good time was always had by all. She was a grand lady. A Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2pm at the Elks BPO Lodge at 1518 23rd Street in Galveston, Texas.
