Description	:	Betty Yeager Betty Ruth Yeager, 86, of rural Ottumwa, died at 8:42 a.m. June 16, 2018 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born October 28, 1931 in Ottumwa to Orville and Mildred Pennock Eyre. She married Tommy Thompson August 12, 1949 and later divorced. She married Norman Lee Yeager April 28, 1979 and he preceded her death January 13, 2015. A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1949, she worked at Union Bank in Agency and Ottumwa. She married Norman Lee Yeager April 28, 1979 and he preceded her death January 13, 2015. A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1949, she worked at Union Bank in Agency and Ottumwa. Betty loved her animals, especially her horses. She and her husband, Norm raised Tennessee Walking Horses. She was a member of the Ottumwa Saddle Club and enjoyed spending time at Pioneer Ridge as well as held an interest in photography. Surviving are her two children, Nancy Thompson and Steve Thompson both of Ottumwa; two step-children, David (Janet) Yeager and Stacy Deriso both of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Crystal Thompson, Allison (Zach) Fears and Joshua Lowe; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her body has been cremated. A time to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Pioneer Ridge Nature Area. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Published on June 18, 2018
