Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Jack Harold Simmons, Sr. and daughter of the late Clarence Searcy and Liddie Easler Searcy. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and retired from Broad River Brick Company. Read More	Betty Searcy Simmons May 21, 1931 - January 17, 2022 Betty Searcy Simmons, 90, of 117 Robinhood Drive, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 17, 2022, at her residence. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Jack Harold Simmons, Sr. and daughter of the late Clarence Searcy and Liddie Easler Searcy. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and retired from Broad River Brick Company. Betty was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher teaching grades 1 through 6 and Pairs and Spares, and where she also served on various committees at the Church. She was also an active volunteer in nursing homes, card ministries, a volunteer with Parson's Pantry, and the Guardian ad Litem program. She is survived by one son, Jack Harold Simmons, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Beverly Earley of Gaffney and Patty Ensley (Lee) of Cullowhee, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jared Earley, Leah Ensley Roberts (Josh), Nathan Simmons and Heather Simmons Rojas (Luis); eight great-grandchildren, Jaden Earley, Kaine Earley, Jackson Earley, Lilly Roberts, Maclane Roberts, Tristan Rojas, Leo Rojas and Joey Simmons. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Clay Earley and four sisters, Corrie Lynn, Helen Blanton, Gladys Wylie and Shirley White. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Bethany Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Church with Dr. Donnie Padgett, Reverend Robert Dickard, Major Lisa Davis and Reverend Phil Gallman officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family requests that attendees wear bright colors to her service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: The Salvation Army, P.O.
