Description	:	Betty T. Yarborough Mrs. Betty Taylor Yarborough, 80, passed away peacefully Friday, July 15th, 2011 after a long illness. Mrs. Yarborough was born in Florence on March 26th, 1931. She was a daughter of the late Stephen Taylor and the late Maggie Price Taylor, and was the widow of the late Russell Elston Yarborough of Friendfield. Mrs. Yarborough was a member of Scranton United Methodist Church and retired from Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. She was known for her caring and giving personality. Yarborough Mrs. Betty Taylor Yarborough, 80, passed away peacefully Friday, July 15th, 2011 after a long illness. Mrs. Yarborough was born in Florence on March 26th, 1931. She was a daughter of the late Stephen Taylor and the late Maggie Price Taylor, and was the widow of the late Russell Elston Yarborough of Friendfield. Mrs. Yarborough was a member of Scranton United Methodist Church and retired from Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. She was known for her caring and giving personality. Mrs. Yarborough always put others before herself. She sincerely and unselfishly wanted to take care of others. Mrs. Yarborough was willing to do without so that others may have. She loved to quilt and made many handmade gifts for people in her community. Mrs. Yarborough loved to cook, garden, and read in her spare time. The family would like to extend a special "thank-you" to Carolinas Hospice, Southland Healthcare Center, and Mrs. Yarborough's long-time roommate and close friend, Thelma Harrell, for the compassionate care and support shown to Mrs. Yarborough during her times of need. Mrs. Yarborough's surviving family includes her five grandchildren, Russell W. Yarborough, Jr. (Tonya), of Alabama, William D. Yarborough, of Indiantown, Kimberly Y. Landreth (Randy), of Greeleyville, Robert W. Yarborough, of Pamplico, and Christina L. Yarborough, of Texas; her four great-step-grandchildren, Joshua Stone, of Ohio, and Joy E. Yarborough, Hannah R. Yarborough and Phoebe K. Yarborough, all of Alabama; her sister, Gladys Truluck, of Olanta; and her many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Yarborough is preceded in death by her son, R. Wayne Yarborough. The family of Mrs. Yarborough will have visitation from six until eight o'clock p.m., Sunday, July 17th, 2011 in the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Yarborough will be held at eleven o'clock a.m., Monday, July 18th, 2011 in the Scranton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the funeral services in the Scranton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge. Published in Morning News on July 17, 2011
