Beulah was born March 14, 1920 at Smithfield, Nebraska, one of five children born to Clifford and Helen (DeBoer) Robb. Kulger, 96 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Christian Homes Care Community at Holdrege. Beulah was born March 14, 1920 at Smithfield, Nebraska, one of five children born to Clifford and Helen (DeBoer) Robb. She learned to be a good cook at a young age, her mother would always have Beulah bake the bread at home for meals. She received her education from Smithfield Public School. On December 26, 1946 she was united in marriage to Theodore “Max” Kugler and the couple engaged in farming north of Eustis, Nebraska. In 1950 they relocated to a farm northwest of Loomis, where they continued to farm until Max’s passing on January 25, 1989. In 1973, she began a long career in caring for others as a Nurse’s Aide at the Bertrand Nursing Home. Beulah then moved into Bertrand. She was active at the Senior Center and loved playing cards with her friends every Monday. For many years during retirement, Beulah also enjoyed being a visitation hostess at the Sandstrom Funeral Home in Bertrand, again showing her caring personality. Most of all, Beulah thoroughly loved to attend her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She continued to reside at home until her health required her to make her home at the Bertrand Nursing Home and most recently at the Christian Homes Care Community. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. In early years, Beulah enjoyed playing on the church softball team and was an avid bowler who qualified for the State Tournament several times throughout the years. Besides her parents and husband, Max; Beulah was preceded in death by her daughter, Myrna Osborne; three brothers: George, Todd and Ivan Robb; one sister, Verna Robb at a young age; and a great-great grandchild. She leaves to celebrate her life; her son, Terry Kugler and his wife, Judy of Bertrand; six grandchildren: Scott Kugler and his wife, Niki, Robert Kugler and his wife, Joey, Bill Kugler, Sandy Wear, Candy Dempsey and Vickie Evans; 16 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Beulah M. Kugler were held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bertrand, Nebraska with Pastor Dan Wiese officiating. Interment followed the services in the Elwood Cemetery at Elwood, Nebraska. The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege was in charge of the arrangements.
