Description	:	OLATHE -- Beulah M. Darling, 86, Olathe, formerly of Salina, died Sunday, April 11, 2004. Mrs. Darling was born Beulah Mae Mortimer on Sept. 5, 1917, near Gypsum, to the late Mark and Ethel (Hicks) Mortimer. She graduated from Gypsum High School in 1935, taught for a year, and then attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. She married Donald F. Darling on Nov. 5, 1939, in Gypsum. She kept books for their dairy company and worked in the school lunch program in Iola and at Salina South High School. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church.... Mrs. Darling was born Beulah Mae Mortimer on Sept. 5, 1917, near Gypsum, to the late Mark and Ethel (Hicks) Mortimer. She graduated from Gypsum High School in 1935, taught for a year, and then attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. She married Donald F. Darling on Nov. 5, 1939, in Gypsum. She kept books for their dairy company and worked in the school lunch program in Iola and at Salina South High School. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed needlework, cooking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1997; her parents; a brother, Carl Mortimer; and a sister, Gertrude Isbell. Survivors include two sons, Donald F. and wife Linda of Kansas City and Douglas A. and wife Paula of Leavenworth; two daughters, Marilyn K. Vaughn and husband Al Reed of Leawood and Lynnette M. Pfannenstiel and husband Nick of Lake Mills, Wis.; a granddaughter, Traci Zupke of Hartland, Wis.; and six grandsons, John Darling of Lawrence, Dan and Mark Darling of Leavenworth, Austin Vaughan of Lenexa, Neal Vaughn of St. Joseph, Mo., and Jason Pfannenstiel of New Berlin, Wis. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Carlson-Ford-Geisendorf Memorial Chapel, 500 S. Ohio, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 843 Lewis, Salina 67401, or they can be sent to the funeral home.
