Description	:	MAYODAN — Maxine Pike Hill, 82, went home to be with Jesus on Friday morning, June 15, 2012, at her home. An 11 a.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 18, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Terry, Reverend Rick Haug and Reverend John Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. A Rockingham County native, Maxine was born August 2, 1929, the daughter of Jim and Loma Adkins Pike. Interment will follow at the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. A Rockingham County native, Maxine was born August 2, 1929, the daughter of Jim and Loma Adkins Pike. She worked at Atlas Supply Company in Winston-Salem for 21 years and then retired from Lefty's Restaurant after 26 years of service. Maxine was a faithful member of the Mayodan Pentecostal Holiness Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jim and Loma Pike; her loving husband of 44 years, Johnny "Juke" Hill; brother, Berkley Pike; sisters-in-law, Thelma Pike and Dixie Hill. Maxine is survived by her church family that loved her dearly; four nieces, Brenda Kallam, Norma Jean Hill and Brenda Easter all of Mayodan and Carolyn Lemons of Stoneville; sister-in-law, Ruth Tuttle and husband, Bobby of Hendersonville; special brother-in-law, Joe Hill of Winston-Salem; very dear friend, Reverend John Atkins and wife, Jerri of Mayodan; caregiver and life long friend, Carolyn Atkins of Mayodan; Brandi and Tyler McCoy who loved her as their own grandmother and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home in Madison and other times at the family home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mayodan Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 325 North 2nd Avenue, Mayodan, NC 27027. The family would like to give special thanks for the compassionate care shown to Maxine by Hospice of Rockingham County. Beulah Maxine Pike, the second born child of James “Jim” Pike and Loma Adkins was born on August 2, 1929 in Rockingham County, NC. Maxine married Johnny Lee “Juke” Hill on June 23, 1951; son of John and A Lena (Kendrick) Hill. Johnny was born on August 17, 1930 in Mayodan Rock, NC. Johnny died on December 31, 1995 and is buried in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery in Rockingham County, NC. Maxine died on June 15, 2012 and is buried in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery in Rockingham County, NC.
