Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Walter Funeral Home. Beulah Olivia Gothier, daughter of Alton and Alice Griffith, was born January 23, 1921, at Oto. She graduated from Oto High School in 1938. After graduation she attended Wayne State Teachers' College, where she later graduated. She taught school in rural Oto, Sloan Elementary School for eight years, and for several years at the Everett School in Sioux City. Beulah was married to Everett Gothier on June 17, 1962, at Sioux City. She was a member of the Congregational Church, and the WSCS of the Anthon Methodist Church. She was active in the Anthon Woman's Club. During her teaching career she was a member of several teachers' associations. Survivors include her husband, one step-daughter, Mrs. Gary (Alice) Sobieski of Cushing; two stepsons, Calvin of Anthon and Douglas of Iowa City; one sister, Mrs. Earl (Vava) Fitzpatrick of Sioux City; one brother, Oren Griffith of Lawton, four grandchildren; and her aunt, Mrs. Frank Gobell of Anthon. She was preceded by her parents and one sister, Mae Eugene.
