Her family moved while she was young to SW Nebraska where she went to school. She graduated in June 1897 and met her future husband Ernest, who went with her family by covered wagon on way to Buffalo, Wyoming in July 1897. They moved on to Sheridan, Wyoming where she and Ernest married in 1899.They started their married life in a two room house and later moved into a three room home. He worked in the Round house for $1.50 per day. They saved their money, and bought a lot, and built a four room house and started their family. In 1908 they moved to Birney Montana to homestead. They farmed their homestead until 1925 when they moved to Billings, Montana.
