Description	:	BEVERLY FAYE LANE Beverly Faye Lane (Bev) passed away on March 29, 2009 in Reno, Nev. He was born in Standish, Calif., on Dec. 30, 1929 and was the son of Granville and Mary Farwell. Bev served in the US Navy from 1950-1954, serving on the USS Monterey. Bev returned to Lassen County after he completed his service in the Navy and lived here the rest of his life. Read More	BEVERLY FAYE LANE Beverly Faye Lane (Bev) passed away on March 29, 2009 in Reno, Nev. He was born in Standish, Calif., on Dec. 30, 1929 and was the son of Granville and Mary Farwell. Bev served in the US Navy from 1950-1954, serving on the USS Monterey. Bev returned to Lassen County after he completed his service in the Navy and lived here the rest of his life. Bev married and raised a family with his wife, Jeannine. He worked for the California Department of Corrections, retiring from the warehouse at CC after 24 years of service. Bev also served his community in a variety of capacities, including the Standish Litchfield Rural Volunteer Fire Department, the Shaffer School board, Standish 4-H, Susanville FFA, the B.P.O.E., as well as the Lassen County Cattlemen's Association and the Lassen County Farm Bureau. Bev also served on the board of the Leavitt Lake Irrigation District and worked as the Ditch Master. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannine in 2006. Bev is survived by his children Nancy McClure (Harry), of Standish, Ray Lane (Vicky), of Salem, Ore., Jim Lane (Claudia), of Standish, brother Ron Farwell, of Idaho, and sister Dolores Hemphill (Robert), of Janesville, Calif., as well as by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at Janesville Cemetery on April 3. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Lung Association.
