Description	:	Beverly F. Cannon, 70, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Friday, May 18, 2007, in the Woodlands Care Center, following a brief illness. Mrs. Cannon resided most of her life in Gainesville, a graduate of Gainesville High School, Class of 1955 and she was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Leila May Mobley Fulton. Cannon, 70, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Friday, May 18, 2007, in the Woodlands Care Center, following a brief illness. Mrs. Cannon resided most of her life in Gainesville, a graduate of Gainesville High School, Class of 1955 and she was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Leila May Mobley Fulton. Mrs. Cannon was employed as the Executive Secretary, Facilities and Transportation Division of the School Board of Alachua County for 32 years, prior to her retirement on March 31, 2002. Mrs. Cannon was the unofficial "Historian" for the School Board on property and facility issues and she was most certainly the foremost resident authority regarding the use of a hyphen in the name of the administration building, Kirby-Smith. Beverly was the test case user for several generations of evolving computer and word processing systems introduced at the School Board. She would learn them, help Information Resources debug them and then teach them to her co-workers, often writing the user's manual adopted by the School Board for in-service training. Apart from her family, Beverly's most significant relationship was her 22 year association with Fred Sivia as his secretary. Together, they formed an incomparable team of incredibly dedicated public servants who guided their Facilities and Transportation Division, which was recognized statewide as being extraordinary. Mrs. Cannon was a Certified Master Graphoanalyst, she was the membership secretary of the Gainesville High School "Has Beens" organization when it began and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. Her personal interests included her children, her grandchildren, gardening and scrapbooking. Survivors include: her Husband, Jim Cannon, of Gainesville; Two Daughters, Donna Rose and Sherry Moore, both of Gainesville; Two Sons, Tommy Cook of Gainesville and Chuck Cook of Boston, Mass.; One brother, George Fulton, of Olympia, WA. and Five Grandchildren: William Smith, Tyler Cook, Erica Cook, Sydney Moore and Samantha Moore.
