Description	:	GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - Beverly Jean (Ackley) Jones, 78, of Glens Falls and a former longtime resident of Hampton, passed away July 7, 2012, at the Glens Falls Hospital. She was born on May 27, 1934, in Rutland, Vt., the daughter of Gordon and Mary (Whitmore) Ackley Sr. Mrs. Jones graduated from the Fair Haven (Vt.) High School in 1952. She was employed by Central Vermont and Green Mountain College. She was a hardworking wife and mother who helped her husband run their dairy farm in Hampton for many years. Read More	GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - Beverly Jean (Ackley) Jones, 78, of Glens Falls and a former longtime resident of Hampton, passed away July 7, 2012, at the Glens Falls Hospital. She was born on May 27, 1934, in Rutland, Vt., the daughter of Gordon and Mary (Whitmore) Ackley Sr. Mrs. Jones graduated from the Fair Haven (Vt.) High School in 1952. She was employed by Central Vermont and Green Mountain College. She was a hardworking wife and mother who helped her husband run their dairy farm in Hampton for many years. Mrs. Jones was very dedicated to her family and friends. She loved nature, baking, reading, crossword puzzles and enjoyed watching football, baseball and NASCAR. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Poultney (Vt.) Methodist Church and a former member of the Washington County Farm Bureau. She served the Town of Hampton for several years as the town clerk. Survivors include a daughter, Beth M. Clark and her husband James of Glens Falls; two sons, Bruce Jones and Benjamin G. Jones Jr. and his wife Kathleen, all of Hampton; three sisters, Sheila (Gerald) Lancour of Montana, Helen (Arnold) Francis of Wisconsin and Carlene Patten; six grandchildren, Dylan Jones, Ethan Jones, Marianne Jones, Sara Jones, McKenna Clark and Chase Clark; two great-grandchildren, Kylee Bolton and Cody Bolton; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Roberts, Pamela Ginter and Marjorie Jones; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin G. Jones, in 1993; also by a sister, Marilyn Ackley, and a brother, Gordon Ackley Jr. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven, Vt. Burial will follow in the Poultney Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Agricultural Stewardship Association, 14 Main St. Suite 100, Greenwich, NY 12834; CR Wood Cancer Center, 100 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801; or to the All Hands Volunteers, PO Box 546, Carlisle, MA 01741.
