Beverly Jean Sage was born May 11, 1933, in Yankton, S.D. She grew up in the Lindy and Niobrara area. She married George L. "June" Sage Jr. June 23, 1951, in Vermillion, S.D. George died Sept. 20, 1999, at the age of 71. Beverly babysat in Crofton for several families and worked for Dr. Swift. She worked at the cafe in Crofton for Margie Ehlers and also worked at Bogner's Steakhouse, Crofton for 15 years. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational and its Ladies Aide group. She liked to work crossword puzzles, embroider, and collect bells. She enjoyed TV game shows and her grandchildren. Survivors include two children, a son, Bill Sage, Crofton; a daughter, Marilyn and husband, Jerry Nelson, Crofton; and three grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, and Morgan Nelson, Crofton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George "June" Sage; and twin sister, Betty Sage.
