Visitation is Wednesday, May 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Carson Funeral Home, Ogden. Mrs. Hendershott died Monday, May 29 at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames. Beverly Hendershott was born July 30, 1939 on the family farm near Lake City, the daughter of Floyd and Leola (Fader) Remsburg. She attended Jasper #4 Country School through the eighth grade, and graduated with the Glidden High School class of 1957. While in high school, Bev was on the honor roll, attended Girls State in Cedar Falls in 1956 and had the lead role in the school play her junior year. She married Merrill Hendershott Sept. 11, 1957 in Des Moines. The couple lived in Perry for five years until moving to Ogden in 1963. Bev held multiple jobs including the Ogden movie theater, Barb's Beauty Salon and the Ogden Manor. She also sold Tupperware. Bev was a Cub Scout den mother, volunteered at the McGraw Senior Citizens Center and taught Sunday school at Community United Methodist Church for several years. Survivors include two sons, Jeff and his wife Jeanette Hendershott of Chula Vista, Calif. and Robert Hendershott of Chicago, Ill; a daughter, Julie Isaacson and her husband Robert Chopard of Boone; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy and her husband Gordon Walter of Ackley, and Phyllis and her husband Richard Rabb of Sergeant Bluff. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merrill; and an infant brother, Robert. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Ogden. Carson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
