Description	:	Beverly Joan Masterson, 75, of Oskaloosa, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born August 19, 1935 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Harley L. and Dorothy Marie Fleener Fenton. She attended Oskaloosa High School and later Indian Hills Community College. Read More	Beverly Joan Masterson, 75, of Oskaloosa, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born August 19, 1935 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Harley L. and Dorothy Marie Fleener Fenton. She attended Oskaloosa High School and later Indian Hills Community College. On August 14, 1959, she was united in marriage to Robert A. Masterson in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. Early in her adult life, Beverly worked at the Old Continental Overall Factory/Big Smith, Inc. for over 19 years, and later in the offices of the old Superior-Ideal Manufacturing Company for twenty years. Later, she was an Administrative Assistant in the offices of Biovance Technologies until retiring in February, 2000. She volunteered part time for several years in the offices of SHARE Iowa after retiring until illness forced her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially granddaughter, Megan; reading, sewing, ceramics; and watching cooking shows and the Big Joe Polka Show on televisitn. Beverly also took classes in flower arranging, oil painting, key punch, and ceramics. Her family includes her husband, Bob of Oskaloosa; a son: John(Patti)Masterson of Omaha, Nebraska; a granddaughter, Megan Lynn Masterson; three sisters: Mary Ann Ferguson of Gilman, Norma Jean Mattix of Pella, and Sandra(Chris)DeHaan, Oskaloosa; and three brothers: Harley(Donna)Fenton and Mike(Karen)Fenton, all of Oskaloosa, and Ricky Fenton of New Sharon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandparents: Etta and Lewis Fleener and Martha and Henry Fenton. Funeral services for Beverly Fenton Masterson will be held Friday, January 21, 2011, at 1 pm in the Bates Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Lois Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin Thursday after 11 am, and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 5-7 pm to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
