Mrs. Blatchford was born July 19, 1923 in the family home in Dixon County, Nebraska, the daughter of Floyd J. Brown and Marjorie L.(Crawford) Brown. She attended schools in Dixon County. She married Ronald T. Blatchford on September 9, 1941 at Wayne, NE. She lived in Newcastle, NE and Maskell, NE from December 28,1942 until January 5, 1946 while her husband served in Europe during World War II. Mrs. Blatchford was born July 19, 1923 in the family home in Dixon County, Nebraska, the daughter of Floyd J. Brown and Marjorie L.(Crawford) Brown. She attended schools in Dixon County. She married Ronald T. Blatchford on September 9, 1941 at Wayne, NE. She lived in Newcastle, NE and Maskell, NE from December 28,1942 until January 5, 1946 while her husband served in Europe during World War II. Following the war they farmed in Daily Township and was an active homemaker for her four children. They began farming in Vermillion, SD area in 1966, and lived at Town Square following the death of her husband in 1989. Beverly worked outside the home at Toby’s Restaurant in Meckling, SD for many years and at Sanford Vermillion Hospital for 7 years. She was a member of United Methodist Churches in Maskell, NE and Vermillion, SD since 1953; President of Clay County Extension Club, the Red Hat Society, and American Legion. She wrote poetry all her life and was active in 4-H and Bible Study groups. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and cooking/baking huge meals for her loved ones. Survivors include her brother, James Brown of O’Keene, OK; her two sons and their wives, Larry (Joan) of Vermillion, and Jerry (Deborah) of Sioux Falls, SD; her two daughters, Sharon Knudson (Domar) of Lincoln, NE, and Bonnie DeGrenier of Sun Lakes, AZ; one brother-law, Neil Bobenmoyer; and one sister-in-law, Frieda M. Brown; her 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
