She died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha. She was born Aug. 12, 1938, to Alfred and Mabel (Launer) Madsen in Fremont. She was a life resident of Fremont and a graduate of Fremont High School. She was a life resident of Fremont and a graduate of Fremont High School. She was a member of American Legion Post No. 20 Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 Auxiliary, both of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: a son, Stephen Houser of Fremont; a daughter, Liz Schaefer of San Mateo, Calif.; two brothers, Raymond “Pete” Madsen and Howard “Davey” (and wife, Donna) Madsen, all of Fremont; a sister, Marjorie Widman of Fremont; five grandchildren; and special friend, Al Cerny of Fremont. The Rev. Scott Jensen, chaplain of Fremont Area Medical Center, will officiate Thursday’s service. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends 7-8 p.m. today, all at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery.
