Private services will be held at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Moore and Pastor Chuck Combs officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hawkins was born January 18, 1944 in Wilkes County to Gordon Hurriah and Doshie Nannie Combs Hawkins. He retired from Gaddy Motor Company in car restoration and later worked in mobile home set-up. Bill loved the outdoors, carpentry, like to travel, telling stories to family members and spending time with his family and collecting antiques. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son; Bill Allen Hawkins, a sister and six brothers. He is survived by his wife; Linda Bentley Hawkins of the home, three daughters; Katherine Kennedy and husband Bill of Wilkesboro, Tina Nuger of Millers Creek and Hayley Hamby of Millers Creek, two step-daughters; Teresa Owens and husband Tommy of Concord, Brenda Combs and husband Chuck of North Wilkesboro, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister; Grace Cleary and husband Vance of Hays, best buddy; Mason Cardwell and favorite pet; Axel.
