Description	:	Bill Lloyd George, 82, of Jacksonville, AWC retired, U.S. Navy, died December 8, 2010. He was born July 14, 1928 in High Springs, Florida to Tom and Geneva George. He graduated from High Springs High School in 1948, subsequently attending the University of Florida, the University of Georgia, St. Johns River College and the University of Maryland. Read More	Bill Lloyd George, 82, of Jacksonville, AWC retired, U.S. Navy, died December 8, 2010. He was born July 14, 1928 in High Springs, Florida to Tom and Geneva George. He graduated from High Springs High School in 1948, subsequently attending the University of Florida, the University of Georgia, St. Johns River College and the University of Maryland. Mr. George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Avis Jeannette Gay George, son David Lloyd (Panama) George, Jacksonville, FL and son and daughter-in-law Bruce Lee and Adrienne George, Nashua, NH and six grandchildren; Alana George, Jacksonville, FL and Andrew, Devon, Sabra, Isaac and Malcolm George, Nashua, NH. Other survivors include his brother, Wayne (Phyllis) George, High Springs and his sister, Betty Stefan, Jacksonville. Mr. George will be greatly missed, but remembered with great admiration by many other close family members and friends. Military service included the U.S. Army from 1950-52, with the 45th Infantry Division, 279th Company E (Thunderbirds) and the U.S. Navy Reserve 1956-1988 with VP741 and other squadrons. While employed as an electronic technician with the U.S. Navy Civil Service from 1957-1989, Mr. George was stationed at NAS Jacksonville, FL, Okinawa, Japan, and Guam, Marianas Islands. He will be remembered in Venetia, Ortega and Baymeadows (Jacksonville, FL) for his coaching of Gray-Y, Pop Warner and Little League football, basketball and baseball (1966-1976). He was an ardent sports enthusiast and an avid Gator and Jaguar fan.
