Read More	The Courier Waterloo, Iowa 25 Dec 2008 BILLY DEAN DYKE, 83, of Sidney, was born on Feb. 16, 1925, in Anderson, to Mary Martha Timson and Clarence Dyke. He passed away on Monday, Dec. 22, at Tabor Manor, Tabor. He was the youngest of 8 children. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1943 and enlisted with the Army Corp of Engineers. He worked extensively in Burma and China. In 1950 he graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in engineering. He was employed by Iowa Public Service (Midwest Energy) from 1950 until his retirement in 1988. He started his career in Sioux City and lived in Yankton, SD; Audubon; Canton, SD; Humboldt and finally Waterloo. On June 3, 1951, he married Grace Ann Irwin in a private ceremony in Yankton. In October 1994 he and Grace moved to Sidney. Since May 2007 he has been residing in Tabor Manor. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Grace 2000), daughter-in-law (Melinda Dyke 2008), 4 sisters, 3 brothers and 1 niece. He is survived by his children: Mary Strociek and husband Matt, Las Margaritas, PANAMA and Jeffrey Dyke, Coon Rapids, MN; 4 grandchildren, Andrew Dyke and wife Amy, Texas; Stephanie Johnson and husband Randy, Harpers Ferry, WV; Elizabeth Lee and husband John, Glenwood; and Daniel Dyke, Texas; 4 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews and many in-laws. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday at Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel, Sidney, with Rev. Carl Phillips officiating. Visitations will open after 5 PM Friday and with the family from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials will go to Sidney Rescue Squad and interment will be in the Sidney Cemetery.
