He was born June 30, 1927 in Unionville, Missouri and raised by his adoptive parents, Everett and Lenna (Courtney) Bruce. He was united in marriage to Clara Eunice Pryor on April 23, 1950 in Des Moines. Clara preceded him in death June 29, 2001. Billy was a machinist at John Deere in Ankeny, Iowa until retiring in 1985. Bruce, Sr., of Cambridge, Iowa died Monday, February 21, 2005 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. He was born June 30, 1927 in Unionville, Missouri and raised by his adoptive parents, Everett and Lenna (Courtney) Bruce. He was united in marriage to Clara Eunice Pryor on April 23, 1950 in Des Moines. Clara preceded him in death June 29, 2001. Billy was a machinist at John Deere in Ankeny, Iowa until retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church; the American Legion, Mathis-Wire Post # 233 of Cambridge; was a 50 Year Member and Past Master of Masonic Lodge Tabernacle # 452. Billy's interests were his family and free masonry. His parents, his wife, and a birth brother, Ralph, preceded him in death. Funeral services and Masonic Rites will be 11:00 am Friday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Burial will be in the Fjelburg Cemetery near Huxley. Visitation with the family present will be 7:00 - 8:30 pm Thursday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
