He was born July 10, 1935 in Mindenmines, MO the son of Earl Eugene and Mary Rachel (Avery) Edwards. He lived his younger years in Missouri, and moved to the Kansas after he was married. Edwards, 73 of Pittsburg died at 5:42 p.m. Monday February 16, 2009 at the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg. He was born July 10, 1935 in Mindenmines, MO the son of Earl Eugene and Mary Rachel (Avery) Edwards. He lived his younger years in Missouri, and moved to the Kansas after he was married. Billy married Janet Cronister on May 20, 1957 in Lamar, MO; she survives at the home. Billy worked for the City of Pittsburg for over 36 years. Survivors include his wife Janet of the home; 2 sons-Phill Edwards and wife Kathy of Pittsburg, Jimmy Neil Edwards and wife Barbara Jo of Pittsburg; 2 daughters Linda Holstine and husband Terry of Arma, Pamila Reed and husband Ron of Mildred, KS; 4 sisters Delores Edwards of Pittsburg, Shirley Major and husband Bill of Pittsburg, Virginia Roberts of Arma, Sherry Neff and husband Dan of Centerville, KS; 12 Grandchildren and 17 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Raynard Edwards and 2 sisters Carolyn Edwards and Wilma Collins. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday February 19th at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Reverend David Beard officiating. Friends and family are requested to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg where friends may call after noon on Wednesday. Condolences can be sent to www.bathnaylor.com.
