Death. Blair Stevenson was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in 1832. At the age of 11 he went with his parents to Ohio and four years later came to Iowa, settling in Wapello County and from there he came to Hibbsville, Appanoose County. He heard the final call at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed Streepy, where he had made his home for several years, in Centerville, 808 West Maple St., Wednesday evening, October 22, 1924, and 7 o'clock . He would have been 93 years of age next January 17. "Grandpa" Stevensons life was that of a sturdy pioneer. He it was with, with Ed Streepy, who bought the first threshing machine brought brought into Appanoose County. His was an active life, as where the lives of all the pioneers of the West. He was the father of 7 children, Mrs. Ed Streepy, Centerville, Laura D. Stephenson; Mrs. Emma Bartlett, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Minnie Hutchinson, deceased; Mrs. Ellen White, Kansas City, Mo,; Myrtle Stevenson, Denver Colo.; and Walter Stevenson, of Seymour, Ia. His wife died April 12, 1903. He has made his home with his daughter here for the past sixteen years. Funeral services were held this afternoon from the Christian church in Cincinnati, conducted by Dr. E. J. Shook, pastor of the first Methodist Church of Centerville, and the aged body laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery there.
