Description	:	Blanch Loraine Kersey, daughter of Clarence Delp and Merle (nee Brooker) Delp, was born on April 14th, 1933 in Beaver, Iowa and died November 1, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends at the age of 88. Read More	Blanch Loraine Kersey, daughter of Clarence Delp and Merle (nee Brooker) Delp, was born on April 14th, 1933 in Beaver, Iowa and died November 1, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends at the age of 88. Blanch grew up in Greene County, Iowa and attended Grand Junction Public School, in Grand Junction, Iowa, home of the Bluejays. Blanch's love of basketball started the moment she set foot onto the court. This passion could always be seen while she watched any college basketball team with her favorite teams being the Iowa State Cyclones and the Iowa Hawkeyes. In May 1950, she was united in marriage to Leo Kersey and they were blessed with 4 wonderful children, Diane, Patty, Tommy, and Mary Ann. They made their home in Grand Junction and were married for 71 years. She had a strong passion for her church in which she dedicated many hours volunteering and serving those in need. Whenever there was anything needed you could always count on Blanch to be first in line to help. Including her volunteering her grandsons for church servers without asking them first. Her will to help others also could be seen running the local bingo hall for many years as well as the local food pantry and congregate meals where her granddaughter Patsy and great granddaughter Kelsi often got volunteered to help as well. Blanch's volunteering often meant she was not doing this alone, it was usually a family occasion whether you wanted to or not. Leo used this to his advantage and volunteered her for all the Coop Ham Days. Blanch loved to play cards or any games in general. That was always the first question she would ask you when you walked in. "Wanna play some cards?" You could often find her sitting around the table with her children and grandchildren for hours on end, but only after the chores were done and the bed sheets were made so you could bounce a quarter off of them. Blanch never met anybody that she would not be willing to help. She would give the shirt off her back to if you asked. She loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She could always be found watching their sporting events and was always asking when the next game was. She was very proud of her family and the life she created with her husband. While she was our angel here on earth, she will now be our angel up in heaven. Blanch is survived by her husband Leo Kersey of Grand Junction, Iowa; her children: Diane Kafer of Grand Junction, Patty Kersey of Boone, Iowa, Tommy (LuAnn) Kersey of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mary Ann Miller of Grand Junction; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A Private family graveside service for Blanch will be held at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Grand Junction.
