She was born Oct. 17, 1910 south of Cambridge, Iowa, and was the youngest of nine children born to Ole and Martha Lee. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was united in marriage to Laurence Sweeney, Feb. 25, 1936. They lived in Dallas county one year before moving to a farm northeast of Cambridge, where she lived the remainder of her life. Surviving are her husband, Laurence, and four children: Georgia (Mrs. Paul Ackerman) of Forest City,Iowa; Larry of Ames; Martha and Robert at home. Also surviving are one brother, Thomas Lee; four sisters, Mrs. Hilda Lewis, Mrs. Mollie Apland and Mrs. Cora Lewis all of Cambridge and Mrs. Ruby Bauge of Huxley. She also leaves a cousin, Mrs. Agnes Scott who made her home with the Lee family, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and one sister. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, who even during these months of suffering was given the grace to say, "Lord, thy will be done." May God bless her memory for good in our midst. Funeral services were held at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell, at 1:15 p.m., and at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge at 2:00 p.m. Sept. 26 with Pastor Clyde E. Brueland officiating. Mrs. Alex Egland and Mrs. D.E. Ryerson sang "Sometime We'll Understand" and Pastor Brueland sang "Rock of Ages," accompained by Mrs. Leo Miller at the organ. Mrs. Dennis Ingram and Mrs James Sorenson had charge of the flowers. The casket bearers were John Lewis, Truman Lewis, Ronald Lewis, Vernon Bauge, Donald Apland and Richard Apland. Burial was in teh Cambridge cemetery.
