Crain, died Friday morning Dec. 14, 2001, at Pendleton Manor. Born in Taylors, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Lydia Neves Lindsey. She was a graduate of Asheville Normal Teacher's College and a retired elementary school teacher from Greenville County Schools. She was a member of Tigerville Baptist Church. Surviving is a daughter, Nancy Crain Tanner; a son, John Alvin Crain and his wife Glenda, all of Travelers Rest; five grandchildren, Melanie Lawless, Claire Keener, Amy Allison, Warren Tanner and Dylan Crain; six great-grandchildren; one niece; and three nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Nan Anthony; two brothers, Hubert Lindsay and George Lindsey; and a son-in-law, Nolan Tanner. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday Dec. 16, at Tigerville Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the graveside service at Mountain View United Methodist Church Social Hall. Memorials may be made to Tigerville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 243, Tigerville, SC 29688; or VistaCare Hospice, 4006 E. North St., Suite A, Greenville, SC 29615. The family will be at their respective homes.
