Beck was born March 17, 1924, the daughter of John and Minnie (Olson) Beck, in Newburgh Township, rural Hatton, N.D. She attended country school in Enger Township. She lived and worked in Fargo. She married Elroy Amundson on June 14, 1943, in Mahnomen, Minn. They lived in Mayville, Galesburg, N.D., and Fargo before moving to Hawley, Minn., in 1959. They moved to Portland in 1998. Beck was born March 17, 1924, the daughter of John and Minnie (Olson) Beck, in Newburgh Township, rural Hatton, N.D. She attended country school in Enger Township. She lived and worked in Fargo. She married Elroy Amundson on June 14, 1943, in Mahnomen, Minn. They lived in Mayville, Galesburg, N.D., and Fargo before moving to Hawley, Minn., in 1959. They moved to Portland in 1998. She worked through the Clay-Wilkin Opportunity Council, the Headstart and Homestart Programs, as an Outreach Aide, and the Community Action Program, all in Hawley. She is survived by her husband; sons, Ron (Joan), Williston, N.D., Lyle (Ruth Ann), Sherwood, Ore., Gary (Karen) and Merle (Cherise), both of New Port Richey, Fla.; a daughter, Renae (Glen) Hanson, Hawley; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Roma), Mayville, Carl (Darlene), Fargo, Ernest (Darlene), Warren, Minn., Einar, Hillsboro, N.D., Gilman (Betty), Northwood; and sisters, Clara Johnson, Northwood, and Nathlie (George) Brustad and Shirley Beck, both of Mayville. She was preceded in death by brothers, Marvin, John Jr., David, Tilman and Thomas. Memorial Services: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Bruflat Lutheran Church, Portland (Bilden, Hatton).
