Born May 1, 1931, in Chestnut Grove, Md., she was the daughter of the late John L. and Lillian (Metz) Jones. Her husband, Earl C. Ridenour Sr., preceded her in death in 2004. Blanche formerly was employed as a nurse's aide by Garlock Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown, and by Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village and Reeders Memorial Home, both in Boonsboro. She is survived by her son, Gerald "Purr" Ridenour and his wife, Debbie, of Boonsboro; two brothers, Leonard Ebersole of Keedysville, Md., and Harry Jones of Hagerstown; one grandson, Gerald "Jerry" Ridenour and his wife, Sara, of St. Thomas, Pa.; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Blanche was preceded in death by her son, Earl C. Ridenour Jr., in 2010; a brother, David Ebersole; and two sisters, Ruth Davis and Lena Ridenour. A funeral ceremony will be Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery, Hagerstown. The family will receive friends Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
