Fairbrother, 51, were held Wednesday, May 24, at the Barnes Funeral Home Chapel in Oroville at 2 p.m., and burial at the Oroville I.O.O.F. cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev. C.F. Barber of the Baptist church. Pall bearers were: E.A. Robinson, David Thorndike, John Thorndike, Lee Rice, Jens Thomsen and Gordon Johnson. Mrs. Blanche Ortha Hayden Fairbrother was born January 28, 1888 in Louisiana, Missouri. She spent the early part of her life in the city of Louisiana and then came to the state of Washington in 1915. Part of her life was spent between the years 1916 and 1927 in Wenatchee and Brewster on the dairy ranch of her father. In the latter part of this period she met Lester A. Fairbrother. They were united in marriage in 1928 and made their home on the fruit ranch that Mr. Fairbrother now owns near Ellisford. Miss Hayden became a member of the Presbyterian church of Louisiana, Missouri in 1902. After her marriage to Mr. Fairbrother the family became members of the Oroville Grange No. 985. Mrs. Fairbrother has been a patient of the St. Martin's hospital at Tonasket for seven weeks, suffering from an attack of influenza. Sh was taken to her reward Monday, May 22, 1939 at 7:15 a.m. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Lester A. Fairbrother, her father David J. Hayden, three brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Effie Higginbotham, Mrs. Henry Lavin, Oroville, F.E. Marr, Wenatchee. Shelly Hayden of Louisiana, Missouri, Frank Hayden and David Hayden of Oroville and a wide circle of friends and relatives. Mrs. Fairbrother was devoted Christian wife of a kind disposition and congenial character. She won many friends by her readiness to help the needy and care for the sick of the community.
