Description	:	Mrs. Blanche Palmer Modlin, Claremont, Calif., died Friday, April 7, 1967, at 2 p.m. in Pomona Valley Community Hospital following three weeks of illness. Mrs. Modlin was born Feb. 3, 1881, in Ulysses, where she lived for 72 years. She came to Claremont from Overland Park, Kansas in 1962. Her parents, James and Prudence Palmer, were early pioneers in Ulysses. Mrs. Modlin was active in the Methodist Church and president of the Women's Club at the time of the 50th Anniversary of Ulysses. Mrs. Modlin was born Feb. 3, 1881, in Ulysses, where she lived for 72 years. She came to Claremont from Overland Park, Kansas in 1962. Her parents, James and Prudence Palmer, were early pioneers in Ulysses. Mrs. Modlin was active in the Methodist Church and president of the Women's Club at the time of the 50th Anniversary of Ulysses. She was a past Worthy Matron of the O.E.S. in Ulysses and received her 50 year honorary membership from the MEERA Chapter of O.E.S. in Overland Park, Kansas. She was a member of the DAR in David City, and she received an honorary membership from the Board of National Missions of the United Presbyterian Church in the USA. She was a member of the Claremont Presbyterian Church and active in the women's association of the church. She has maintained an active interest in the Senior Citizens of Claremont, the Newcomers' Club and Claremont Women's Club. Memorial services were held in the Claremont Presbyterian Church Monday at 11 a.m. Rev. Kenneth B. McCandless, pastor of the church, officiated. Shipment was made to Ulysses, where graveside services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. Seward County Independent, Seward, NE, Wed, April 12, 1967
