Description	:	Blodwyn Hyde Stanton, Emporia, Kan., died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor, Emporia. She was 89. She was born June 9, 1914, on the family farm near Arvonia, Kan., the daughter of Arthur and Mary Davies Jones. She spent her childhood on the farm west of Arvonia and graduated from Reading High School in 1931. She then earned a teaching certificate from Emporia Normal School. Read More	Blodwyn Hyde Stanton, Emporia, Kan., died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor, Emporia. She was 89. She was born June 9, 1914, on the family farm near Arvonia, Kan., the daughter of Arthur and Mary Davies Jones. She spent her childhood on the farm west of Arvonia and graduated from Reading High School in 1931. She then earned a teaching certificate from Emporia Normal School. After her marriage, she and her husband made their home north of Reading where she was a homemaker and a farm wife. In the 1950s she was employed by Citizen's National Bank and Lyon County State Bank in Emporia. In 1959 she opened the Black Angus Caf� in downtown Reading which she operated for five years. She later was employed as a house mother at the Emporia State University dormitories. In the early 1970s she moved to Emporia. After being a long-time member of the Reading United Methodist Church, she transferred her membership to the First United Methodist Church in Emporia where she served many years as President of the United Methodist Women and also on the board of trustees. She was also past president of the Flint Hills China Painting Association, and was a leader for the Reading 4-H when her children were growing up. She married Edward L. Hyde Nov. 25, 1933, at Topeka. He preceded her in death July 12, 1966. She married Roy Stanton June 28, 1974 at Emporia. He preceded her in death April 16, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Jernigan. Survivors include a son, Robert E. Hyde, Burlington; two daughters, Sylvia Lowder, Allen, and Bronwen Richards, Fullerton, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur G. Jones, Reading; and a sister, Bernice Winter, Emporia.
