Description	:	Uncle Bob's Obituary: Bobbie Lee Rodgers, age 84, of Boone and previously from Memphis, MO, died at his home on April 20, 2015. Following his wishes, he has been cremated and a graveside service and inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Memphis, Missouri, at a later date. Bobbie Lee Rodgers was born in Boulder, Colorado, on April 22, 1930, the son of Charley and Beulah (Barr) Rodgers. On July 1, 1988, Bobbie married Almake Rice in Memphis. Bobbie Lee Rodgers was born in Boulder, Colorado, on April 22, 1930, the son of Charley and Beulah (Barr) Rodgers. On July 1, 1988, Bobbie married Almake Rice in Memphis. Early in Bobbie’s career, he was a member of the Ames Iowa Fire Department. He then bought his first truck and became an owner/operator truck driver. Bobbie later became a truck driver for Stone Container in Des Moines where he worked for 18 years and retired on July 16, 1995. He was recognized as a 1,500,000 Mile Accident Free Driver. After retirement, he continued trucking with Dickie’s Transport in Packwood, Iowa and was also a member of the Memphis Missouri Sheriff's Department. Bobbie is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Almake; two daughters, Terry Rodgers and Sheila Cole; a sister Kathleen Johnson; and three brothers, Cecil, Harold, and Charles ‘Junior’ Rodgers. He is survived by three daughters, Jenny (Cory) Stoneburner, Carla (Nick) Harris, and Sarah Rodgers and companion Matt Haugsted, all of Boone; nine grandchildren: Barbara (James) Bruton, Amanda (Larry) Orey, Jessica Stoneburner, Stephani (Jon) Pickrell, Dora Harris, Matthew Harris, Jaiden Rodgers, Drake Haugsted, and Jace Haugsted; and two great grandchildren Jamie Bruton and Kayla Bruton Denham. In memory of Bobbie, memorials may be sent to the Bobbie Lee Rodgers Family, P.O. Box 484, Boone, Iowa 50036. Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel which will be handling the inurnment at a later date.
