Description	:	Bobby Rodgers, age 83 of Centerville, died May 10, 2007 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab, Centerville, Iowa. Bobby was born July 31, 1923, the son of Leon and Myrtle(Walker)Rodgers in Mendota, Missouri. He graduated from Cincinnati High School in 1940. He then attended Centerville Community College for one year before going into the US Army for three years, he served in European and Pacific Theatres including the Philippines. Read More	Bobby Rodgers, age 83 of Centerville, died May 10, 2007 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab, Centerville, Iowa. Bobby was born July 31, 1923, the son of Leon and Myrtle(Walker)Rodgers in Mendota, Missouri. He graduated from Cincinnati High School in 1940. He then attended Centerville Community College for one year before going into the US Army for three years, he served in European and Pacific Theatres including the Philippines. He married Dorothy Milner, July 16, 1944 in Alexandra, Louisiana. Upon returning from active duty he attended Parsons College and graduated in 1950. He received his masters Degree from Northeast Missouri State University(Truman State). He was then a teacher, principal, and coach at the Cincinnati High School for ten years. He later taught at Bloomfield and Southeast Warren. He took his Cincinnati High School baseball team to the State Tournament. In 1962 he moved back to Centerville where he was Principal at Howar Jr. High for twelve years. He worked for Rathbun Water for three years and then returned to teaching at Russell High School where he was principal. Bobby is survived by his wife; Dorothy, children, Diana(Ron)Brinegar of Centerville, Iowa and Mike Rodgers of Adel, Iowa, a sister; Jackie Steel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Carl Heien officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, Iowa. A visitation will be held Friday evening at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8 pm. A memorial has been established to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery or the 18-80 Club and may be left at the funeral home.
