Mr. Painter was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He worked in the maintenance department for Page County Public Schools, retiring in 1990 after more than 30 years of service. Parsell of Stanley, and Ella Grace Painter and Emma Faith Painter, both of Luray. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Jean Foltz.
