Deacon Bolter Colson, the oldest person in Brecksville, died at the residence of Thomas Colson, his son, on Tuesday morning January 15th at the age of almost ninety-four. He was born in Weymouth, Mass., in the year of 1784; lived for a number of years in Plainfield, Mass., and came to Brecksville in the year 1815, driving a team the whole distance, being twenty-nine days on the journey. Deacon Bolter Colson, the oldest person in Brecksville, died at the residence of Thomas Colson, his son, on Tuesday morning January 15th at the age of almost ninety-four. He was born in Weymouth, Mass., in the year of 1784; lived for a number of years in Plainfield, Mass., and came to Brecksville in the year 1815, driving a team the whole distance, being twenty-nine days on the journey. He was a person possessed of great energy, and has probably done as much haed pioneer work any any who have lived in this section. he was the person referred to in Squire Wilcox's "Early History of Brecksville" which was published in the Advertiser a year or two since as chopping his own wood, and indeed until a week or two previous to his demise, his ax has been his constant companion. Deacon Colson was born, as well as seen by referring to statistics, five years before Washington was first inaugurated President of the United States, and was fifteen years old at the time of his death.
