Description	:	Bonald Cole was born October 20, 1933 in rural Noble County, Indiana to Orval and Joy (Hively) Cole, the oldest of 6 children. The family soon moved to Hammond, IN, where Bonald started school. Later, the family moved to Garrett, IN where as a youngster, Bonald helped with family support, digging potatoes and onions and weeding peppermint crops. He also caddied at the Garrett golf course. Read More	Bonald Cole was born October 20, 1933 in rural Noble County, Indiana to Orval and Joy (Hively) Cole, the oldest of 6 children. The family soon moved to Hammond, IN, where Bonald started school. Later, the family moved to Garrett, IN where as a youngster, Bonald helped with family support, digging potatoes and onions and weeding peppermint crops. He also caddied at the Garrett golf course. Bonald entered high school at Garrett but when the family moved to Columbia City, Bonald transferred to Columbia City High School and played on their football team. Bonald graduated from high school in 1951; he and Carol became engaged the next Christmas. Carol graduated the next Spring and they were married Sept. 7, 1952. They observed their 52nd anniversary one month ago. During these years, Bonald and Carol were blessed with and parented 5 children: Melodie, Rick, Brenda, Tammy and Amy. Bonald worked first at LML and later a second job at Dana (Weatherhead). After working both jobs simultaneously for 3 years, Bonald eventually settled into a 36 year career at Dana before retiring in 1988. Retirement from a life-long job left him free to do motor home transport for the next 12 years. Bonald was baptized and became a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (now Community of Christ) on March 11, 1955. Later the same year, he was ordained as a lay minister in the office of Deacon. Four years later, he was ordained to the office of Priest and soon after, was assigned from the Fort Wayne congregation to pastor a small group which met in Syracuse, IN. Later, he and Carol returned to the Fort Wayne congregation where he remained an active minister and member in the years following, occasionally preaching, always conveying God's love to many people in all aspects of his life experiences. Bonald had many interests. He loved to fish and hunt. Bonald was a great bowler, once having a 300 game. He loved playing all kinds of card games with family and friends. While Carol was a Purdue University fan, Bonald was an avid Indiana University fan. He and Carol enjoyed travel and square dancing. Basically, he liked to work, always helping neighbors, friends and family. Bonald loved the outdoors and all of God's nature and wonders. Bonald leaves many to remember his touch in their lives: His wife, Carol, 5 Children: Melodie (Denny) Fry, Rick (Michele) Cole, Brenda (Gary) Caibaiosai, Tammy (Scott) McQueen and Amy (Brian)Halloman. In addition, his survivors include 14 Grandchildren and 9 great Grandchildren and siblings: Robert (Bob) Cole, Sharon Casey, Sheila Spaw, Patty Jagger, and Cheryl Bernth.
