Read More	Bonnie Adkins Carter June 7, 1948 - December 25, 2020 Bonnie Adkins Carter went home to be with our heavenly father on December 25, 2020. She was born June 7, 1948, in Rockingham County, NC. Bonnie was a faithful Christian as a member of Osborne Baptist Church, a loving daughter, a wonderful mom, the sweetest grandma, a trustworthy friend and so much more. She had an infectious laugh and smile, loved to shop, and was known as the gadget queen to her family and friends. She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Fabian(Mark), Lynn Denny(Jack) all of Madison; five grandchildren, Lauren Fabian Fields(Rob) of Reidsville, Mackenzie Denny, Christin Carter Joyce(Chris), Gary Purgason and Mattie Purgason all of Madison; two great-grandchildren, Macy and Tanner Joyce; special caregiver Chris Riggs; her brother J.W. Adkins(Barbara); her sisters Joan Smith, Brenda Spencer(Joe), Phyllis Morton(Chuck), her sister-in-law Peggy Adkins and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ernestine Adkins; her brother Buster Adkins; her brother-in-laws Wayne Gentry and Pete Smith; and her grandson Adam Purgason. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Rockingham County for all of their special care. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Dan Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Madison, NC. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1 pm until 2 pm. The family will receive friends and relatives at other times at the home of her daughters. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rockingham County Hospice, The Alzheimers Association, or the organization of the donor’s choice. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison, NC is serving the family.
