Her family will be present to greet friends for visitation on Wednesday at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Bonnie Jane Fisher was born on December 13, 1933 in Sioux Falls, SD to Charles and Blanche (Harvey) Fisher. She was raised and received her education in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School. Following high school, Bonnie continued her education at McKennan Nursing School where she proudly earned her Registered Nursing Degree. Bonnie was united in marriage on May 28, 1955 with Richard James Irvine in Sioux Falls. The couple raised two daughters, Micki and Sandi. Bonnie spent her entire working career in healthcare working as a nurse. She loved caring for people and was proud to run one the first clinics in Sioux Falls to service the underprivileged population. She also volunteered at Avera McKennan Hospital in her retirement. Following Bonnie and Richard's retirements, they purchased an RV and traveled extensively, making their way to Texas every winter, where they eventually purchased their winter home in Harlingen, TX. She loved wintering in Texas and visiting and shopping in the border towns. She was a skilled shopper with a keen eye for good deals. While in Texas she enjoyed playing golf and competing in the Senior Olympics. In addition to being an athlete, she was a gifted painter. She was a member of Hilltop United Methodist Church, The Red Hat Society, and the Shrine Auxiliary. She looked forward to spending Wednesday evenings with the girls for dinner and conversation. She loved feeding all the animals at her apartment complex and considered them "her squirrels, ducks, rabbits and deer." Above all she loved her family and supporting them in all of their activities. Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters, Micki (Taryl) Schmidt-Rohlck of Houston, TX and Sandi (Dave) Jamison of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Schmidt, Adam (fiancé, Tania Rodriguez) Schmidt, Kelli (Kevin Click) Jamison, Max (Kayla) Jamison, Jacee (Clark) Casarella and Seth (Ellie) Rohlck; seven great-grandchildren, Teigan, Faith, Greyson, Veronica, Casey, Knox and Bodhi; brother, Ron (Carol) Fisher of Sioux Falls, SD; special friend, Bob Osborn of Sioux Falls; and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Irvine in 2009; her father, Charles Fisher; her mother, Blanche Falor; and an infant sister. - George Boom Funeral Home
