Bonnie was born in Midland County, on Dec. 7, 1930, the daughter of Vernell and Thelma (Phillips) Staley. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Debra M. Mox (Don McIntyre) of Midland; and son, Loren D. Lower (Kathy) of Sanford. Bonnie also has six grandchildren, Krysha Abbott (Dave), Seth Lower, Kellie Mox Richards (Blake), Megan McIntyre, Kaitlyn McIntyre, and Kelly Yarch (Jason); and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Donna Jones of Beaverton and Kay (Richard) Henry of Gladwin; and special friends, Eleanor Niemiec, Markeith Kalmar, Chuck and Donna Riggie, Alice Riha, Wanda Smith, Peg Faber and Barb Draves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale R. Lower; her parents; and one brother, Loren V. Staley . Bonnie grew up on a farm on Curtis Road in Edenville Township and attended Beaverton Schools, graduating from Beaverton High School. She married Dale R. Lower on May 14, 1948, in Hope. Bonnie, Dale and the children moved to Midland in 1954. Bonnie enjoyed being with her family and many friends, but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid card player and enjoyed glass collecting and crafts over the years. She lived for holiday celebrations. Christmas was Bonnie's favorite time of year; she would put months of planning, shopping and special touches into the gifts and celebrations she planned for her friends and family. The family would like to thank Dr. Ross Ramsey and the staff at the Family Practice Center, Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center, Carol Winter from Washington Woods of Midland, the staff at Tender Care of Midland, Rebecca Evans and Jennifer Vacca and the staff at Barton Woods Assisted Living of Freeland, Heartland Hospice of Bay City and Angel Blackwell and the staff of Region VII Area Agency of Aging for all the compassion and quality care over the past months. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and her remains will be buried next to her husband at Dale Cemetery. The funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church, 915 E. Sugnet, Midland, at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the hands of Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider The First Baptist Church of Midland, Region VII Area Agency of Aging or a charity of their choice.
