The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements. Bonnie Mae Bauman-Neuhring was born in Wakefield, Nebraksa on January 8, 1930 to Hans and Alma (Echtenkamp) Holdorf. She was baptized on January 26, 1930 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wayne, Nebraska. She later confirmed her Christian faith on April 2, 1944 at the same church in Wayne. Growing up, Bonnie attended a country school through eighth grade and high school in Wayne and Ponca, Nebraska. Bonnie was united in marriage to Marvin F. Bauman on June 25, 1948 in Ponca, Nebraska. To this union, three children were born: Duane, Marlene, and Dennis. Marvin passed away on February 17, 1970 at his home. Bonnie worked as a nurses’ aide for around forty-five years at a nursing home in Schaller and hospitals in Storm Lake and Sac City. The last ten years at Sac City, she worked in the medical records department. While working in Schaller and Storm Lake, she cleaned the Central Popcorn offices at night for fifteen years. Bonnie enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She loved flowers of any kind and tried growing different ones. She also bowled on a bowling team for twenty years and enjoyed dancing. On September 29, 1995, Bonnie was united in marriage to her best friend of fifteen years, Robert Neuhring of Sac City. They enjoyed thirteen years of marriage. He passed away on July 10, 2007. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Alma Holdorf; husbands, Marvin Bauman and Robert Neuhring; sister, Betty (Billy) Koeppe; great-granddaughter, McKayla Schrieber; and son-in-law, Kenneth Kennedy. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Duane (Ruth) Bauman of Sac City, Iowa; Marlene Kennedy of Ida Grove, Iowa; Dennis Bauman of Carroll, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
