Dhabalt, 68, of Cordova, died at 9 last night in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Kline 1056 Foster Dr., Davenport, after a brief illness. Services will be at 7:30 tomorrow night in Esterdahl Chapel with the Rev. Robert Pitcock, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Cordova, officiating. Additional services will be at 2 Friday afternoon in Flanagan Funeral Home, Melcher, Ia., and burial will be in Dallas, Ia., Cemetery. Mr. Dhabalt, the son of John and Cynthia Dhabalt, was born Oct. 27, 1888, in Lacona, Ia. He married Gwendolyn Beard on Feb. 9, 1935, in Princeton, Mo., and the couple resided the last 17 years in Cordova. He was employed by Minneapolis-Moline Co. as a janitor for eight years, retiring in 1954. Prior to this employment, he was a coal miner. Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Kline; a brother, Christopher, Covington, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Sockrider, Knoxville, Ia.; Mrs. Edna Rogers, Cordova, and Mrs. Guyola Mozena, Moline; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A son preceded him in death.
